Yesterday I went to the Bonaparte Karaoke bar with some friends. I didn’t take the mic, but I dared to sing some songs in Nederlands with the crowd. I am sure that nobody notices (or cares) if I say hau instead of hou…

Specially memorable the Mexiiiiiiiiiico moment and the E viva Espana. I mean, I am 2000 kilometres away from home and I am in a Karaoke bar with a lot of Belgians singing E viva Espana. Amazing. Specially because that same afternoon I went to the H&M and I listened to a cover of the song Matinee by Franz Ferdinand in Spanish (salsa remix XD)

Well..the only thing I am sorry about yesterday is my makeup box broke while I was getting reading, and now I don’t have the white eyeshadow…Snif…It’s not the fact of having to buy a new one that annoys me. It’s just that I had to clean the mess. And those who use makeup would understand perfectly what I mean…

¿Qué mejor que berrear en un Karaoke lleno de gente?

Ayer fui al Bonaparte con algunos amigos. No me puse al micro (faltaría más…) pero me atreví a cantar junto a los belgas un par de canciones. Total, no creo que se fijen si digo hou o hau.

Momento memorable cuanto se pusieron a cantar Mexico…(más bien, Mexiiiiiiiiico!) y Que viva España a grito pelado. Recorrer dosmilkilometros para acabar en un karaoke con una burrada de belgas cantando e viva espana. Increíble. Especialmente porque esa misma tarde en el H&M había oido una versión española del Matinee de Franz Ferdinand…(Salsa…remix! XD)

Bueno, lo único que lamento de ayer es que la cajita de maquillaje se rompió mientras me preparaba, y me he quedado sin sombra blanca (tampoco azul, pero esa me da igual). No me da pena tanto el hecho de tener que comprar una nueva, como el hecho de haber tenido que limpiar el cuarto. Y los que utilicen maquillaje me entenderan…¡Vaya “fiesta” que se me hizo en el suelo”!

My bike is Back!!! Well..in the end my friend found it on the street, called me and asked me if he could take it home. I agreeded and when he called me again the problem was solved. It was just the chain was out of place, not broken.

Now I don’t know if I am really happy or angry with the man that told me it would be too expensive to repair it…

Well…I am happy =)

And today was wonderful…
I went to the laundry (ooh…such a wonderful thing!) but I talked to some Indonesian guys who didn’t know how the washing machine worked. A woman and two young boys (one of them said “How are you” in Spanish)

I am a simple person. This kind of things makes me happy too =)

In the afternoon I went to the riverside because the weather was nice. I was sunburnt XD

And then I went to the Strawberry Fields cafe to listen to some blues music live.

The cafe is great~ Actually…A little bit strange because we were surrounded by people in their 30s or 40s…But I had fun anyway.

Ah~I like life this way^^

Pues…Mi bicicleta ha resucitado (en domingo, pero no al tercer dia XD) El caso es que mi compañero me llamó ayer diciendo que había encontrado mi bici por ahi, que cómo se me ocurría dejarla sin candado y que se la llevaba a la casa…

Pues vale. Intentalo…

La cadena no estaba rota, me cachis en el dueño de la tienda de bicis. Simplemente estaba suelta…

Vale que la dinamo no funciona, pero como ahora los días son hipermega largos, me da un poco igual…

Así que, mi bicicleta ha vuelto a la vida. Con que me dure un mes y medio más estoy feliz.

Aparte de eso, hoy ha sido un buen día…

Fui a la lavandería (bueno, esto no lo convierte en un grandioso día…sólo en un domingo normal) pero una chica y dos chicos de Indonesia se pegaron hablando conmigo un ratito bueno^^

Ya saben que aquí lo aburrido es no poder hablar con nadie, por eso de la barrera lingüística, así que esta tontería me alegró el día. (ups, un pareado)

Después, la sorpresa de la bici.

Unos agradables 22 grados, y un paseo cerca del río para acabar quemada en los brazos…(si es que, la falta de costumbre…)

Una visita a un bar guay, el Strawberry Fields (link arriba) que bueno, lleno de puretillas, pero con buena música en directo. Y es que cualquiera que escuche blues, jazz o fusiones inevitablemente se mueve^^

Qué felicidad.

Since yesterday it was neither snowing nor raining a lot, I went to Oostende with a friend.

The two hours (and a half) by train were quite worthy. I could see the beach (of course, the weather was not THAT good and I didn’t swim) and eat an icecream. What else do a person needs on holidays? Absolutely nothing else.

Ayer, como no estaba ni nevando ni lloviendo (demasiado) fui con un compañero de clase a Ostende. Fueron dos horas y media en tren, pero merecieron la pena sólo por el helado y la playita.^^

Anyway…Today’s post is about the Library. Libraries are amazing. According to Terry Pratchet, they treasure Power. Because Knowledge is Power and nobody would deny that Libraries house lot of knowledge.

But Libraries can also contain some fun (sometimes). Antwerpen is the most similar thing I have seen to American University lifestyle. From university student clubs and their famous cantus (a party where the main goal is getting drunk and singing) to canteens.

Well..today I went to the Library and I found out there was a concert on the lower floor. And beers, icecreams and sweets for free =)

Since I have an exam on Friday I didn’t stay for a long time (three songs). Really a pity because the band playing, MINT, was really really good. The kind of music I like.

Then I went upstairs and continued studying. I was studying in a group-reserved room but my friend had gone for a while and I was alone. Since there was a bigger group waiting I was politely XD asked to move to another place. The funny thing is I called my friend to tell him and these people realised I was speaking Spanish…Funny enough, they were studying Spanish and had some homework, so I helped them with a writing XD.

Well…To resume…Going to the library is worthy sometimes, isn’t it?

Fui a la biblioteca (hoy es mi cumple T-T) y me encontré un concierto en la primera planta, de un grupo muy bueno llamado MINT (clica en el enlace de arriba para descubrirlos) y en la planta donde yo estudiaba a un grupo de estudiantes de algo que tenían dificultades con un texto en español, y hemos estado hablando y les ayudé un poquito con ella. =)

Instead, I have been for six hours in my friend’s house. XD

I have passed my exams! My marks are neither excellent nor terrible. Just average, but it is not that bad since I am taking my exams in an alien language for me. Excuses, excuses…I will do better next time.

Changing subject…My sister left already. She stayed here for one week but unfortunately she cannot prove it because we had a small technical problem with the SD card. The pictures were deleted -unintentionally- when trying to download them into the computer. Nobody knows how it happened, but the fact is that there are no photos now. X File (tu tu tutu Tutu)

¿Te dije que….¡aprobé!? Mis notas no son tan buenas como si hubiera estado en España, pero no son tampoco malas…Tengo excusa, no hago los exámenes en mi idioma. Mientras los demás pueden decir <La luz de la luna se derramaba sobre el valle como…> yo puedo decir ná más <La luna brillaba. Punto>

Sea la excusa válida o no, los siguientes exámenes intentaré hacerlos mejor^^

Bueno, cambiando de tema…Mi hermana vino, comió y se fue ya. Estuvo una semana por aquí pero desgraciadamente no puede probarlo porque -misterios de la tecnología- las fotos se borraron cuando las intentabamos descargar al ordenador. >.<

I love Yepe’s interpretation, because…I cannot describe what I feel around the minute 08:40. O.o

Anyway…

The thing is…A concert is going to be held in Antwerpen. It is called The Spanish Guitar and, of course, this concert is going to be played.

However…

It is quite expensive. 35€ the cheapest tickets. And my sister is coming that day, so I guess going to a concert is  not her idea of holidays in Antwerpen. T-T

I would like to go, really, really, realy…But….There are too many “buts”

Ah~I am still young. I am sure someday I will listen to it live. =)

El Concierto de Aranjuez. No me digan que no lo conocen. Ponen en juego nuestra amistad, pues se trata de la pieza para guitarra que más me gusta, que más me emociona. Si aún no saben de qué canción hablo, pueden echarle un vistazo al video arriba^^.

Bueno, la cuestión es que se va a hacer un concierto en Antwerpen sobre la guitarra española y, como no, nada más típico tipiquísimo que el Concierto de Aranjuez (también un fragmento de Carmen, entre otros). Problema: Dos. Uno es el precio (35€ la entrada más barata) y…Que mi hermana se viene ese día a verme, y no creo que vaya apreciar mis esfuerzos por arrastrarla a un concierto…XD

En fin, otra vez será^^

Today I went to the Christmas Market in Brussels. And we had a wonderful weather (i.e. not raining) so everybody was outside. It was really crowded! Sometimes we couldn’t even move!

Bueno, de nuevo ha pasado mucho tiempo sin actualizar. Parece ser que mi vida aquí se ha vuelto normal (es decir, aburrida) y que ando escasa de noticias.

Pero, a veces, me divierto.

Hoy fui a la Feria de Navidad en Bruselas. Y como hacía un tiempo maravilloso (es decir, no llovía ¬¬) todo el mundo estaba en la calle. ¡Estaba abarrotado!¡Había ocasiones en las que no nos podíamos mover!

Y, para demostrarlo, unas fotitos de tan genial día…

I usually listen to music while cooking or eating in the kitchen and, although I don’t know the most popular radio station here, I always end up listening to Q music.

Well…I was having my tasty cream of carrot soup while listening to the radio when a familiar sound filled my ears.

Huk. Bisbal in het Nederlands versie. As if we hadn’t had enough with the Spanish version of the song…

Well..I don’t know the lyrics in Spanish, but maybe I give them a try in Dutch. kkkk

Last week I went to Brussels (heart of Europe) but I hadn’t posted the pics…So…here they are.^^

Actually I go to Brussels once a week to attend the Korean lessons. At least, theorically.  Because until now I have not gone even a single day! The problem is Mr. Boss calls me to work, and I cannot say “no”. So I miss my lessons…

Bueno, les dejo con unas fotitos de Bruselas^^ Se supone que voy una vez en semana a Bruselas a clases de coreano, pero lo cierto es que hasta ahora no he ido…El Jefazo me llama siempre para trabajar, y pierdo las clases. ¡Una lastima!

Bruselas está a 40 minutos en tren de Antwerpen…Es menos de lo que tardo en ir de mi casa en Tenerife a la Universidad^^
